Common Problems & Solutions
❌ Problem: Payment Pending / KYC Pending
✅ Fix: Complete annual e-KYC at pmkisan.gov.in → Farmer Corner → e-KYC. Use Aadhaar OTP.
❌ Problem: Aadhaar-Bank Account Mismatch
✅ Fix: Your bank account must be linked to the same Aadhaar. Visit your bank to update Aadhaar seeding, then update the bank details in the PM Kisan portal.
❌ Problem: Name mismatch (Aadhaar vs Land Records)
✅ Fix: Get your land records corrected at the tehsil office to match your Aadhaar name exactly. Minor spelling variations can block payments.

✅ Fix: Log in to PM Kisan portal → Edit Aadhaar Details → Correct bank account and IFSC code. Verify IFSC at your bank branch.
❌ Problem: Application rejected without clear reason
✅ Fix: Contact your village-level Patwari or Block Agriculture Officer. They have access to rejection reasons. Also check the helpline: 155261.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does it take to receive the first PM Kisan installment after registration?
A: After your application is approved and verified by the state/district authorities, the first installment is typically credited within 2-3 months. The process involves village-level verification, state government approval, and then fund transfer.
Q: My PM Kisan status shows 'Pending for Approval at State' — what does this mean?
A: Your application has been submitted to the state government for verification but hasn't been approved yet. Contact your state's agriculture department or the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to follow up. This stage can take 1-4 weeks.
Q: I received some installments but then stopped. Why?
A: Common reasons: Aadhaar-bank account mismatch, mobile number changed, land records updated/disputed, you became a government employee or income tax payer, or the yearly e-KYC was not completed. Do e-KYC at pmkisan.gov.in immediately.
Q: Is e-KYC mandatory for PM Kisan?
A: Yes. Annual e-KYC is mandatory. Without it, installments are blocked. Complete e-KYC online at pmkisan.gov.in using your Aadhaar and OTP, or visit your nearest CSC centre.
Q: Can women farmers apply for PM Kisan?
A: Yes. Women who are land-owning farmers are fully eligible. Their name must appear in the land records (khata/patta). Joint ownership with husband also qualifies.
Q: My land is more than 2 hectares — am I not eligible at all?
A: The 2-hectare limit was for the original scheme in 2019. Since May 2019, the scheme was expanded to cover ALL farmer families regardless of land size. All land-owning cultivator families are now eligible.
