📋 Overview

From September 2024, the Government of India expanded Ayushman Bharat PMJAY to cover ALL senior citizens aged 70 years and above, regardless of their income or socio-economic status. This gives every elderly Indian a free health cover of ₹5 lakh per year at any empanelled government or private hospital. Additionally, government employees have CGHS, armed forces veterans have ECHS, and many states have their own senior citizen health schemes.

  • No application needed if already an Ayushman Bharat beneficiary family
  • Others need to register at pmjay.gov.in or Ayushman Bharat centres
