📋 Overview

LIC's online customer portal at licindia.in lets you manage all your LIC policies digitally without visiting a branch or calling an agent. The portal is available 24×7 and is free to use. What you can do after login: view all enrolled policies, check policy status and details, pay premiums, download premium receipts (for 80C tax purposes), view loan eligibility and outstanding loan, check maturity date and estimated maturity amount, update mobile number and email, update nominee details, submit service requests, track claim status. Registration is a one-time process that takes about 5 minutes. You need your LIC policy number and a mobile number registered with LIC.

Eligibility

  • Any LIC policyholder with an active policy can register — even for lapsed policies.
  • Required: LIC policy number, date of birth, and mobile number registered with LIC.

⚠️Common Problems & Solutions

OTP not received during registration
Check that the mobile number you entered matches exactly what is registered with LIC. If you don't know your registered mobile, call LIC helpline 022-68276827 with your policy number. Also check if your phone is on DND — LIC OTPs come from short codes that may be blocked. Try receiving OTP again after removing DND for transactional messages.
Forgot User ID or password
At licindia.in → Customer Portal → Click 'Forgot User ID' or 'Forgot Password'. Enter your policy number + date of birth + registered mobile. OTP is sent to verify identity. Create new password. User ID is displayed after verification. Alternatively, contact LIC helpline.
Policy not found when trying to enrol
Common reasons: (a) Entering policy number incorrectly — check for leading zeros (e.g., policy number may be '0123456789'). (b) Policy is registered to a different branch and not yet migrated to the central portal — wait 24 hours and try again, or visit the branch. (c) Policy is from LIC Pension & Group Schemes — these use a different portal at ebiz.licindia.in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Can I view and manage all my LIC policies from one login?

Yes — you can enrol multiple policies to a single account, even if they were purchased from different branches or at different times. Go to 'Enrol Policies' after login and add each policy number. All enrolled policies are then visible on your dashboard.

Q.Can I change my nominee through the online portal?

Yes — after login → Enrolled Policies → select policy → 'Service Requests' → Nomination Change. Fill in nominee details and submit. Some branches may require a physical signature on a form for nominee changes — the portal will indicate if you need to visit a branch.

Q.Is the LIC mobile app different from the website?

The LIC of India app (available on Android and iOS) offers the same features as the website portal — view policies, pay premium, download receipts, check status. The app is often faster and more convenient. Login with the same User ID and password as the website. The app also has a QR scanner for quick premium payment.
